Unfortunately the Timing of IV Advocacy day, and also May 2011 VB schedule at a wrong date. If the Govt Shutdown due to the budget deadlock, I'm not sure how both of these days will play out. Any Idea guys. :confused:

It's always a good practice to take a receipt notice of any action done by your lawyer & keep that for your records.
When you apply for EAD, soon USCIS will ask you to do fingerprints(BIO-2). I think you missed that part and it might be denied or void as it was left for so long!
You can file for new EAD online at https://efiling.uscis.dhs.gov/efile/InteractionMgr?interactionmgr.interaction=SetupEfo rms×tamp=1127234762990
Create your account & you can file your self with out lawyer's assistance. It's always suggested to file EAD(I-765) & AP(I-131) jointly. You can pay by credit card.
(1) After applying online, you will receive 'Receipt notices' of EAD & AP.
(2) Now a days USCIS will set up an apointment for BIO-2 of EAD.
(3) You have to send supportive documents for Advance Parole, like photos,brief explanation of qualifying for AP...I can give you those sample formats !
Coming to I-485 BIOMETRICS, call USCIS & ask them about BIO. Go to this website & register https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp. You must add I-485,EAD,AP & I-140 receipt numbers like LINXXXX and you will get emails when they get approved. You can also see the changes on 'LAST UPDATED' column, which means your case is touched by an officer. But it's not the confirmation of approval until status message has changed or you got an email.
Go thru these 2 links & familiarize well. Hope your I-140 has approved. Finally these are suggestions only & I am not a lawyer. Consult an immigration lawyer if you have uncanny issues.

I am so emotional now........just got the email, text message and message on the website changed to "Decision"
Mine, my wife's and my son's cases APPROVED!!!!
My case was in NSC. No additional fingerprinting, except one in Oct 2007, my son had to do one since he turned 14 this year....
14 years of wait is over......Praise be to God for his faithfulness and mercies

1. Ball park figure is total of 218,000 visa wasted from previous years. How much of it will go to EBs (and others) will be based on how the recapture gets implemented. If we don't do anything and sit quiet, it may as well be ZERO. Nurses will walk away with the cake
2. President can pass an 'Executive Order' to provide interim relief. So it should be possible. It'll depend on the independent interpretation of the law by the White House, and it won't be based on whatever you read elsewhere.

Kudos! Thanks for the extra effort. No pain no gain.
I sent the letters too, both to the President and Immigration Voice. But I didn't use the IV template. Wrote a 2 page letter starting from scratch using my own thoughts. I also attached a copy of my MS degree from the US and also mentioned that I am a IV member and mentioned all the major objectives of the Administrative fixes campaign.

Visa allocation chief mentioned in AILA comment that USCIS knows visa usage pattern. Which means that they know pending I 140 for EB1 in pipeline and they also know that average time to get approve new I 140 is X months ( 4 months ) so they know if person files in May 2011 chances are rare that he/she can get GC from 2011 quota.I am not saying is that applicant can't get it but when u look at I 485 complexity and add scrutinity on EB1 I 140 its more than 4 months to get GC from start to finish without any RFE.
That is why they are so confident to release quota now. which may bring date so much forward so that can attract new cases and move back dates to certain point in time. Specially this is how DOS does for all family based CP cases. When they think they have 10k visas coming they move dates to cover 15k out of which 12k may reply on time and they always have control to retrogress dates if they run out of visas.
Big question is how far they want to go and get new cases. If they don't go upto Mid 2008 in next 1 year , Eb2 will loose some visas to EB3 and dates for EB2 will be "C" , if they go with some calculated guess and usage pattern + buffer they should go well into early 2009 with in next 1 year.

For those who don't know, the first three letters of the receipt number in you I-797 H-1b approval notice indicates the service center.
Like SRC is Texas, EAC is Vermont, LIN is nebraska and CSC for california.
Please include this info too.

I concur... I'm not flying BA ever again, my family members have had bad experiences with these folks. My $ is now reserved for more deserving airlines, even if the tickets are a couple of hundred bucks more expensive elsewhere. You really cannot determine the achievable factor of a goal on a scale of 1 to 100 so that ordering is moot. In fact, there is some merit in keeping our most ambitious goals upfront - with enough support from the community we might just achieve them.
