looks like we will be all alone :-)
Saw a picture of the flood victims in Pakistan seeking food, sure you understand :-)
I will wait this week and plead with ombudsman. Are you thinking of anything else for now?
Customer Service rep folks say ..Case is with an officer...Not sure, if that is any indication..All of us have to hope for the best.

I didn't get the phone# for USCIS compaint dept. But some one(may be ashres11) posted one phone#18003238603 for DHS. I called that number and it turned out Inspector General office. As i reported earlier. He told me to call regular USCIS 800. I said it's useless. He took some note and asked to call this new number 877-246-8253.
E-mail :
cisombudsman.trends@dhs.gov
joint.intake@dhs.gov
Fax :
202-344-3390
I got the LIN# I-765 from congresswoman office per USCIS reply.
I had followed your footsteps Cadude long time back. One quick question, how to I bug USCIS complaint dept.. or inquiry dept. any email or fax number?
I am in corresp. with my senator and congressman.
Thanks
ps : Did you call USCIS to make sure your checks are encashed or got LIN numbers?
I know you got your I-765 numbers.

I m Aug-04, TSC, EB-2 .....still waiting!
Opened SR 9/5/2009...got letter from CRIS...wait 6 months.
For my wife , we got 60 days wait letter.
I m the primary applicant!
Has anyone ,tried to contact Congressman/Senetor's office?
How can i do it?
I m in Orange county, CA.
I don't think calling Senator's office is going to be of great help. At least it didn't help in my case.
You may google to find out the senator(s) for your state. Every senator must be having their own web-site. Get the phone # from their web site. Call them and tell them that you need help in Immigration and explaing them briefly. They will take your SRC # and contact TSC on behalf of you.

This is a real problem. I got a letter from a prospective employer, who wanted proof that I was legally eligible to work in the US (alongwith transcripts, previous employment letters etc.) prior to scheduling an interview.
I believe employers are seeing a lot of candidates on EAD, and for whatever reasons they dont think EAD is good enough and would like to weed those candidates out beforehand.
We need to fight back against this discrimination.
I think h1b was considered as an initial filtering criteria where they do not have to deal with complexity. Now as they see more EAD trying to switch jobs, they are trying to apply the same filter. They do not understand that EAD is a valid document on the i 9 form.
So what if they find a lot of GC holders?
" Only Citizens please"
What if they find a lot of Citizens and very few h1b?
"Only h1b please" :)

Looks like the HR has adjourned till Sep 22 without HR5882 being discussed. Are they putting it off for later this year or next?
Just noticed they updated the next session date to 15 sep and not 22 Sep.

Hey Guys,
Can you please tell me in what form you get your advance parole (AP)? Is it like a Visa stamp on your passport or is it a temperory card like the EAD?
Thanks

This is the reply from Attorney Murthy on a question asked on Murthy chat about filing two employment based I-485's for the same beneficiary (not the husband/wife situation).
"Generally it is safer not to file 2 separate 485s since it can confuse USCIS since they may assign two separate Alien or A numbers to the same person. This could end up delaying the person's I-485 approval down the road or create a security delay in many cases with multiple I-485s generally we recommend one case to be filed as an AOS and the other for CP if possible."
After much research on this, I tend to agree with this answer above (not the CP part though). As per my latest information from a lawyer who does multiple filings, the processing delay can be significant due to this. Looking back, wish our community had more information on this and more real examples of people who have done it. It would have helped members who were unsure if they should do multiple filings.
Anyways this thread will be useful for future I485 filers.

I am only seeing only 100% illegal discrimination in these scenarios. Pretty soon, they will stop hiring US citizes of Indian (or Chines or Japanese or Italians ..) origin.
This is plain stupidity. These employers should first take a good look at an EAD and a GC. As for as work authorization is concerned, both these cards provide us with the same rights. The EAD says The person identified is authorized to work in the US for the validity of this card where as the GC says The person identified by the card is authorized to work and remain in the US.
So why does the legal department come into picture here? Is it because of the expiry date associated with EADs? If thats the case even a GC has got an expiration date (a later date maybe). Does that mean that an additional budget is required to hire GC holders?

trying to understand your problem?
the goal (and you may have to chew on this a while) of this campaign is not to bend rules. it is to create media attention for our problems.
this may be a catalyst to anything- 485 filing, bridging amendments...who knows?
the point is we have to keep trying. sounds like you want to slink away into your "reality". well, since we are all living in fantasy, friend, please let us enjoy it. thanks for your encouragement btw.

Don't know if anyone noticed but Mr. Emilio's statement nowhere indicates any acknowledgement of the hardships caused by the fiasco. If he (and USCIS) knows about "flowers", I am sure USCIS knows about the scramble, hardships and frustration caused by the fiasco. A simple acknowledgement through something like " ....while we regret unintended consequences of following our internal procedures, we have made arrangements to forward the flowers to ..." would have demonstrated leadership or honesty of intent which I guess is in short supply
I think he is trying to say if anybody needs flowers its our men in uniform and not us (USCIS). I hope I am wrong but thats my perspective. Have sent the flowers anyway ;)

Which ever way it works, as long as it works...
I am saying there are problems with USCIS not just the one you are pointing out.
My point is if more and more people like you file lawsuits against USCIS for the different kinds of injustice they think USCIS, DOL and DOS had brought on them, we ( all EB categories)will be in better shape to fight together for the bigger cause which is more predictable process and processing and closing as many loopholes as possible in the employment GC journey.

How about, they are expecting so many application 140 plus 485...that THEY DO NOT WANT TO PROCESS ANY APPLICATION...like always - THEY WILL SIT and EAT BURGERS and dont WANT TO DO ANY WORK...nothing new here folks...
I understand your frustration, but easy there Jonty. To blindly accuse of someone of not doing their work is not good. Again I understand the frustration but we need to go easy on the criticisim.

I havent heard anything from my lawyer yet. My papers are supposed to be maied sometime next week.

AMY GOODMAN: Im going to talk about a few other people.
LOU DOBBS: Sure.
AMY GOODMAN: Glenn Spencer, head of the anti-immigration American Patrol, has been interviewed at least twice on the show in 2004, maybe many more times afterI dont know. LOU DOBBS: lets get a number. What do you think? Why are you focusing on two or three?
AMY GOODMAN: I can go on and on.
LOU DOBBS: OK, keep going. How many?
AMY GOODMAN: But I think the important point here
LOU DOBBS: Give us a total. Give us a total of the number of guests you object to.
AMY GOODMAN: Lou, I just want to say something here. You just said to Juan, cant he take a joke, when you talk about the incursion, Mexico taking over the United States. Yet, it is a growing theme. It is a continuing thread in your broadcast. This guy, Glenn Spencer, whether he said this on your show or not, Dobbs has not
LOU DOBBS: Oh, no, no.
AMY GOODMAN: Just one secondhas not mentioned his ties to American
LOU DOBBS: Now Im supposed to be
AMY GOODMAN: Yes, you have to know who
LOU DOBBS: Im supposed to be responsible for what he says off my broadcast?
AMY GOODMAN: No. You should know that he was tied to American Renaissance, the group that says blacks are genetically inferior to whites. You didnt report those ties or mention Spencers
LOU DOBBS: Do you think we knew it?
AMY GOODMAN: more wild-eyed contentions
LOU DOBBS: Do you think we knew it?
AMY GOODMAN: such as his
LOU DOBBS: Amy, do you really think we knew it?
AMY GOODMAN: Just listen to thissuch as his prediction
LOU DOBBS: Do you really believe we knew that?
AMY GOODMAN: that thousands will die in a supposedly forthcoming Mexican invasion.
LOU DOBBS: Oh, come on! Youre giving Glenn Spencer and other detestable people who would make such comments about more air time than anybody.
AMY GOODMAN: Well, Lou
LOU DOBBS: You have just given him more air
AMY GOODMAN: But, Lou
LOU DOBBS: than I would have ever, and I
AMY GOODMAN: But, Lou, let me make a final point.
LOU DOBBS: Go back and look at the quotes.
AMY GOODMAN: Let me make a final point.
LOU DOBBS: Whos giving him more air time? You.
AMY GOODMAN: Your colleague, Wolf Blitzer
LOU DOBBS: Yeah?
AMY GOODMAN: on the other hand, also featured Spencer on his own show, but reported Mexicos official response that SPLC, Southern Poverty Leadership Councils hate group designation, said that he was a member of a hate group, as designated by the Southern Poverty Law Center. So were not
LOU DOBBS: What year was that?
AMY GOODMAN: What Im saying is that Wolf
LOU DOBBS: What year was Wolf Blitzer?
AMY GOODMAN: Blitzer identified him; you did not.
LOU DOBBS: What year? What year?
AMY GOODMAN: Well, I just know when you had him on your show, and you may have had him on since then.
LOU DOBBS: But do you know when Wolf Blitzer had him on?
AMY GOODMAN: Well, soon after that, I suppose. I dont know.
LOU DOBBS: OK. After we found out that there was a problem.
AMY GOODMAN: But you know what the fact is? I dont know. And I admit when I dont know. And I try to get my facts straight.
LOU DOBBS: Sure. Sure. So do we.
LOU DOBBS: Sure.
AMY GOODMAN: For example, Barbara Coe, leader of the California Coalition for Immigration Reform,
LOU DOBBS: Shes not a guest. Youre reading from the Southern Poverty Law Center
AMY GOODMAN: quotedjust one second
LOU DOBBS: She was not a guest.
AMY GOODMAN: I am going to look at theas you said, you actually felt that the Southern Poverty Law Center was so important
LOU DOBBS: Its a joke.
AMY GOODMAN: in getting information
LOU DOBBS: Its a joke.
AMY GOODMAN: that you sent your producers down there to get information so that you wouldnt represent hate groups on the air.
LOU DOBBS: In their responses, theyre nothing but a fundraising organization
AMY GOODMAN: So let me
LOU DOBBS: and theyre indulging in pure BS.
AMY GOODMAN: OK. Now, let me just
LOU DOBBS: And so are you, when you quote them.
AMY GOODMAN: Let me just talk about some of the guests that you have had on
LOU DOBBS: Sure. Theyre not guests.
AMY GOODMAN: or quoted on the show.
LOU DOBBS: Barbara Coe was never a guest.
AMY GOODMAN: No. She was quoted on the show
LOU DOBBS: Thats different.
AMY GOODMAN: bitterly attacking Home Depot for betraying Americans, apparently because Hispanic day laborers often gather in front of the store looking for work. Not mentioned were her group, listed by the Southern Poverty Leadership Council as a hate group, or the fact that she routinely refers to Mexicans as savages. Coe recently described herself as a member of the Council of Conservative Citizens, the white pride group formed from the remnants
LOU DOBBS: What year was that?
AMY GOODMAN: of the segregationist White Citizens Council of the 50s and 60s,
LOU DOBBS: What year was she
AMY GOODMAN: which Thurgood Marshall called the Uptown Klan.
LOU DOBBS: My god, Amy, what year was that on our broadcast? What year?
AMY GOODMAN: Not clear. You can tell me what year was it on your broadcast.
LOU DOBBS: Well, actually, I can, but it was years ago. And it was before we knew what the heck was going on.
Spencers website is jammed with anti-Mexican vitriol. He pushes the idea the Mexican government is involved in a secret plot to take over the Southwest
LOU DOBBS: OK.
AMY GOODMAN: facts never mentioned on your show. His group is regarded as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League.
LOU DOBBS: You know, well, I really dont care what
AMY GOODMAN: Spencer has spoken at least twice to the white supremacist Council of Conservative Citizens.
LOU DOBBS: You know, I got to be honest with you. I have no knowledge of this fellow. I have no ideaand youre not telling me when he was on the broadcast.
AMY GOODMAN: You had him on the show. I said
LOU DOBBS: No, I did not have him on the show. He was quoted
AMY GOODMAN: January 7th
LOU DOBBS: He was either quoted in a piece
AMY GOODMAN: No, no, no. No, no, Lou. On January 7, 2004, and June 4, 2004
LOU DOBBS: Ah!
AMY GOODMAN: he was interviewed on your broadcast.
LOU DOBBS: He was not on our broadcast. He may have been in a field report. He was not on our broadcast. And, Amy, let me ask you a question: have you checked to see how many guests weve had on our show in the course ofwhat is that?
AMY GOODMAN: You have had many.
LOU DOBBS: three-and-a-half years? No, I mean
AMY GOODMAN: You have had many.

This is the email I got.
Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity
On August 19, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
There is no change in my wife's 485 status. But her EAD is approved. There is no mention of card production in the email. Looks like lot of people got the CPO email directly with post decision activity. Can somebody confirm the sequence in which it happens? How long does it take for the card to arrive? How long will it take for my wife's 485?
